As with other aspects of the architectural design process, the design and specification
of architectural hardware has become increasingly more technical and code
conscious with the integration of electronics and an increased dependency on other
design and code elements.
Most hardware suppliers can prepare a schedule which specifies the products they
have to offer for sale. Their service requires the Architect to protect them during the
bidding process to ensure that they have a better chance to supply the project. Their
specification is generally based to the products that they can offer irrespective to
what is better for the project.
ARCHITECTS & CONSULTANTS
